Norman Reedus Breastfeeding Photo: ‘Walking Dead’ Star Hijacks ‘Free The Nipple’
Norman Reedus has shown his support for the “Free the Nipple” campaign yet again, but The Walking Dead star doesn’t think that the movement should just be about fighting for a woman’s right to go topless in public — it should also focus on making it more socially acceptable for women to breastfeed in public.
According to the Huffington Post, Norman Reedus recently posted the awesome Instagram photo below. He obviously doesn’t have a problem with breastfeeding in public, and if Daryl Dixon thinks that there’s nothing wrong with it, then it must be pretty darn cool.
“Free it! Love these ladies! Tonight’s show is gonna be awesome!!!” Reedus captioned the picture.
The photo above has been censored to ensure that it doesn’t offend anyone. In the unaltered version, Norman is holding a ball that resembles a breast with a nipple. According to Tammie Hamed, one of the moms in the photo, Norman Reedus was thrilled to send an important social message about breastfeeding by posing for the crazy picture.
“Somehow breastfeeding was mentioned and we offered to take a nursing pic with him. He was excited and said it was the best pic he’s ever taken.”
Norman’s “Free it!” quote in the caption above was likely a reference to his support for the Free the Nipple campaign. As the Inquisitr previously reported, The Walking Dead star also mentioned the cause last July when he freed his own nipple on Instagram. Numerous other celebrities have fought to “decriminalize the female body” by backing the Free the Nipple movement – Miley Cyrus, Scout Willis, Rihanna, Michelle Rodriguez, and Lena Dunham are just a few of the stars who have bravely bared their breasts in the name of equality.
Norman Reedus could try to convince a few more male celebrities to lend their support to the movement — he is pretty good pals with some pretty popular guys. According to Moviepilot, Reedus recently posed for another incredible Instagram picture featuring Bill Murray and Reedus’ Walking Dead costars Steven Yeun and Melissa McBride. It was taken at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, so this explains Murray’s cowgirl attire.
If Reedus can’t convince Murray to free his nipple, perhaps he can get the Ghostbusters actor to guest star on The Walking Dead. As Moviepilot pointed out, Bill Murray proved that he’s patient enough to endure the painstaking zombie makeup application process by playing one of the undead on Zombieland. It’s just a shame that The Walking Dead has already visited a golf course.
Kim Kardashian might be seen as the Instagram queen, but it looks like Norman Reedus is schooling the reality show star on how to do social media right.
