A Harry Potter parody to the tune of Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” is making serious waves on the internet today. According to MTV , the video is nothing short of amazing . Bringing one of the most popular franchises together with one of the most popular songs of the year was simply genius, but the actual lyrics are what’s even more genius.
“Stop! Wait a minute Fill my goblet, put some fire in it Grasp the hands, make the vow Come on ‘Trix, seal this now! We takin Diagon, Nocturn, Hogsmede, Anywhere! If we show up, we gon’ curse out Badder than that Devil’s Snare.”
The Harry Potter parody features Death Eaters like Bellatrix Lestrange , and, of course, Harry Potter makes an appearance, though his character is not played by Daniel Radcliffe. According to The Daily Dot, the group is made up of “a bunch of enterprising HP fans from Provo, Utah, and what appears to be the entire membership of Cosplay Utah.”
Nearly anything that has to do with Harry Potter or “Uptown Funk” seems to go viral these days. As previously reported by the Inquisitr , a woman named Grace Ann rewrote a section of the popular novels with a heavily Christian spin because she “was afraid” that the books would have a negative impact on her children, and that the literature would make her kids become witches. So she wrote a piece of satire, and that went viral back in September. Check out that story here .
