Did Justin Bieber Hint At Ultra Music Festival Guest Spot With Skrillex And Diplo? [Updated]
Update: According to a source, Bieber told a group of fans he met randomly on Tuesday that he will be performing at the Ultra Music Festival this weekend.
Original report:
Justin Bieber may have hinted he will guest during Skrillex’s set (and, possibly his Jack Ü partner Diplo), at the upcoming Ultra Music Festival during Miami Music Week in Florida.
The three-day dance music throwdown kicks off on Friday, March 27. Skrillex is scheduled to headline the main stage on Sunday, March 29.
On Tuesday, Bieber posted a tweet which could be a clue that he will be gracing the stage to perform “Where Are Ü Now,” his featured song on the recently released Skrillex & Diplo Present Jack Ü album. It debuted straight in at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart after it sold 14,000 in the week ending March 14. It is now No. 2.
The singer’s tweet reads, “@Skrillex @diplo what are you guys doing this weekend?” and includes the link to Jack Ü’s YouTube upload of their dance collaboration with the 21-year-old.

While Skrillex is listed as a solo headliner on Sunday’s line-up at the Ultra Music Festival website, Diplo is advertised as a guest on Miami’s Hits 97.3 radio station in an interview airing March 24.
Hashtags in the station’s promo tweet included #Ultra, suggesting the producer-DJ will be in town for the festival.

“Where Are Ü Now,” garnered tons of surprised, ecstatic reviews for Bieber, Skrillex, and Diplo, when it dropped along with the rest of Jack Ü album during the duo’s online 24-hour DJ set on February 26. It was shut down by police around 18 hours later.
The synth-laden, strangely beautiful mid-tempo, in which Bieber sings of a bitterly lost love interest, is currently No. 9 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.
According to Nielsen Music, the track punched in second-week sales of 17,000 downloads in the week ending March 8, while registering 1.5 million U.S. streams (with 80 percent of that reportedly coming from Spotify).
Between February 23–March 2, it was the second most streamed track on Spotify globally, and the third highest in the U.S. in that period, the Associated Press reported. From March 2–8, the song reached No. 9 on Spotify’s Top 10 Most Viral Tracks in the U.S.
In addition to “Where Are Ü Now” being an interesting proposition for Skrillex, Bieber, and Diplo to perform at Ultra, it also makes commercial sense. It is the highest streamed track from the Jack Ü album on SoundCloud, with over 7 million plays to date.
Bieber’s weekend cameo at Ultra hint comes hot on the heels of Tuesday’s announcement by the singer and UK’s Capital FM radio, that he will be headlining the opening day of the Fusion Festival in Birmingham, UK, on August 28.
He is set to perform a 90-minute show, in what will be the singer’s first UK appearance for two years. Tickets go on sale on Friday, March 29.

For his part, Bieber — who has been making a string of public apologies for past missteps — tweeted that he is ready to get back to work in posts on Monday and Tuesday.
After revealing he was “honoured” to be performing at his upcoming UK headliner, he then added, “Missed the stage. Time to get back to work.”
All that said, Diplo’s reply to the singer gave nothing away about possible guest drop-ins during Skrillex’s Ultra Music Festival set. So, the trio may simply be partying together.
“@justinbieber @Skrillex let’s go to the beach,” Diplo tweeted Tuesday.

Either way, it’s clear Justin Bieber, Diplo and Skrillex will be Miami this weekend. If the live collaboration does pan out, you can watch it live on Twitch TV /Ultra.
