‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Melissa Archer Fired, Serena Leaving Salem?
Days of Our Lives fans may be saying goodbye to yet another character. Daytime Confidential reports that Melissa Archer, who plays Serena Mason on the NBC soap, may have been fired, meaning her character could be leaving Salem for good.
Melissa Archer was announced to be joining DOOL earlier this year to much excitement. Archer, who was beloved by fans of her former show One Life to Live, entered Salem as Serena, a medical examiner who shared a sexy past with Eric Brady before his days as a Catholic priest. However, Serena brought with her a secret that has something to do with a white elephant statue Eric had previously displayed in his home, but later gave to Dr. Daniel Jonas’ young son, Parker.
Days of Our Lives fans have quickly grown tired of Serena’s seemingly never-ending story line. It’s been months now and no one really knows what she is up to. It seems some of the new big wigs at Days have decided to clean house and get rid of Melissa Archer’s Serena.
Of course, this isn’t the first character to leave after an underdeveloped story line. Celeb Dirty Laundry reports that recently, Chrishell Stauss, who played Jordan Ridgeway, left Salem after a love affair with Rafe Hernandez, a fling with Chad DiMera, and a brief but confusing storyline with her brother Ben and evil father Clyde.
However, since Days of Our Lives has made a few changes to their staff, such as the writers, it looks like some characters will be given the boot, and other fan favorites that the soap was built on will be back.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Peter Reckell and Stephen Nichols will return to the soap sometime this year as Bo Brady and Steve “Patch” Johnson. These two former best friends will come back to town to deal with their ex-wives, Hope Brady and Kayla Johnson, as well as reunite with their estranged families.
It looks like Days of Our Lives may be taking a step in the right direction by getting back to some of their roots and getting rid of the mess that is currently airing on the show. Viewers are also hoping that the changes will help the show in the ratings department and bring back some fans who may have strayed over the past year since the soap took the hit of losing Alison Sweeney and James Scott’s Sami Brady and EJ DiMera.
