‘Dragon Age: Inquisition’ DLC To Be Officially Announced This Week, First Details Revealed From Leaked Achievements
After Mark Darrah, executive producer of Dragon Age: Inquisition, first confirmed that development of the initial DLC release for the popular role-playing game had begun back in February, BioWare has since remained silent on exactly what the add-on might bring to the latest installment of the fantasy series. However, BioWare is about to break that silence after announcing that the first trailer for Dragon Age: Inquisition‘s premier add-on will debut this Tuesday.
Additionally, after a set of leaked achievements became public, Xbox Achievements has now listed four new in-game achievements for Dragon Age: Inquisition that will likely be included as part of the game’s first DLC pack. The first Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC will be titled Jaws of Hakkon.
The four new leaked achievements hint that players will explore a new area in Dragon Age: Inquisition that appears to be called “Old Temple.” It seems that fans will explore a temple, and they will be tasked with setting fires and destroying something new called Winter Shards.
Another new achievement that was detailed in the leak hints that Dragon Age: Inquisition players will once again deal with the barbaric Avvar tribe in the upcoming DLC. Based upon the available information, it appears that gamers must try to earn the trust of the tribe in order to become friends with the Avvar.
The final two leaked achievements seem to be completely story-driven, as they require Dragon Age: Inquisition users to investigate a mysterious legendary figure, and prove an ancient myth to be wrong. These seemingly narrative-based achievements further hint that the upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC will indeed be focused on expanding the game’s single-player campaign.
This goes in line with statements made recently by various BioWare employees. Eurogamer reports that Dragon Age: Inquisition creative director Mike Laidlaw revealed to them that details on the first DLC should be coming soon, and that the developer is very aware that fans are craving more single player story content within the game.
With the fact that BioWare appears to be following a similar design of handling the Dragon Age: Inquisition multiplayer as Mass Effect 3‘s cooperative mode, it seems safe to assume that the upcoming add-on will focus on single player content. If the developer continues to use the same model from Mass Effect 3, then all multiplayer additions will be introduced via free patches while adding new story-based features for the single player campaign will be handled mostly through DLC releases.
Dragon Age: Inquisition is out now PC, Xbox One, Playstation 4, and last-gen consoles. Despite new DLC achievements being uncovered, BioWare has still not discussed the upcoming add-on.
