Phaedra Parks Being Strategic In Divorce From Apollo Nida: Afraid He Will Turn On Her
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks made up her mind while filming the show and she would be divorcing her husband as soon as he went to jail to serve his eight years behind bars. Clearly, Phaedra didn’t want to serve him with divorce papers prior to going to jail, as Apollo Nida would have some legal rights prior to going to jail. But if Parks filed after he turned himself in, Phaedra would have more power in the situation.
But since Phaedra Parks is an attorney, Parks knows what she needs to do to win. Prior to Nida going to jail, Phaedra was involved in a lawsuit. She sued Angela Staton, who wrote a book about Phaedra Parks and her business dealings. There were things said in the book that Phaedra wasn’t happy about and she sued for defamation.
According to a new Radar Online report, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks needs to have Nida’s help in this defamation suit, so she doesn’t want to file for divorce. Phaedra may wait until this defamation suit is over, so she can get the legal help from Apollo Nida to win the case. She doesn’t want Nida to testify against her, and a divorce could legally make him capable of doing so. Spouses are not forced to testify against one another.
“Phaedra isn’t going to divorce Apollo while this case is going on,” a source has revealed, adding, “She plans to still be married to Apollo so that he can’t be forced to testify against her. Phaedra needs Apollo now. She isn’t going to divorce him yet.”
At present time, Apollo Nida is currently serving his time in Kentucky. He has been locked up since the fall, so he has another seven years and six months to go. It is very possible that Phaedra has been getting support from her friends. According to the Inquisitr, Kandi Burruss hasn’t been a good friend if you ask Parks. On The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Phaedra decided to open up about her feelings, saying that she was actually shocked that Apollo got into legal trouble once again.
“I thought he was a changed man,” Phaedra Parks has revealed on an episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, adding, “I married him because I knew that he loved me … Maybe he was conning me the whole time … He’s leaving a trail of madness.”
