Vin Diesel is known for being private about his personal life. But during a Los Angeles screening for Furious 7 , the actor broke down with emotion discussing the late Paul Walker , who also starred in the film, reported TMZ .
After Walker’s death in a car crash in 2013, Vin Diesel views the movie as a tribute to his friend. As he battled his tears in talking about the death of his co-star, he seemed to find strength from the outpouring of love from the concerned audience.
The actor also revealed his views on his Facebook page .
“Our objective was to make Paul Walker proud… After watching Furious 7, and his timeless performance… we realized that it was Paul, who has made all of us… so very proud.”
Reflecting on the relationship and bond that he had built with Paul, Vin Diesel revealed that he regarded him as a brother, reported Design & Trend .
“This film was a labor of love. It was in some ways it was the hardest movie I’ve ever had to do because the relationships you see on film are so real. When the tragedy happened I lost my best friend, I lost my brother. Please from my heart, know that we made this movie from our hearts. And know that this is our gift to you and more importantly, it’s for my brother there.”
As he struggled to talk about the strong friendship that the two had enjoyed, he choked with tears on his words. But the pouring of sympathy from the audience helped him to continue.
“You’re the man,” yelled one person.
“I love you bro,” said another.
“You got family here Vin,” added a supporter.
In addition to Vin, Furious 7 producer Neal Moritz talked about the film and the legacy of Paul Walker.
“He was really the best guy I ever met in my world – in my life. When we decided we were going to continue this movie, we were determined to honor his legacy and our love for him forever. This movie is the highlight of my career. And I know Paul Walker would be smiling down on all of us.”
Furious 7 opens on April 3.
And although Vin Diesel cannot hold back in the tears in mourning the loss of his friend, he’s also finding a reason to celebrate. As the Inquisitr reported, the actor recently shared the joy of welcoming his third child with girlfriend Paloma Jimenez.
To express how he felt, the Furious 7 star quoted Louis Armstrong.
“I hear babies crying/ I watch them grow/ They’ll learn much more/ Than I’ll ever know/ And I think to myself /What a wonderful world.”
