[RUMOR] Whitney Houston to be Buried at Fairview Cemetary in Westfield, New Jersey
The rumor mill is working overtime with the information that the star will be buried at her family’s plot in Westfield, New Jersey at the Fairfield Cemetery.
The funny thing is that no one seems to have told the cemetery, local police or the funeral home. In fact, no one at the cemetery is even willing to divulge where the family plot is in the 102 acre cemetery in upscale Westfield.
On Saturday, at noon, Whitney Houston’s funeral will be held at New Hope Baptist Church on Sussex Avenue in Newark. Attending will be family and friends, who have invitations. The press is not invited.
Fairview Cemetery, where Houston’s father, John Russell Houston, Jr., was buried in 2003, is also an arboretum, with 61 species of trees planted on the site and many people who walk there.
Opened in 1868, on what is thought to be a burial ground for Native Americans, the site has gravestones with birth dates that go back to the American Revolution and possibly before.
NJ.com is reporting that in downtown Westfield the interest in Whitney Houston making it to the cemetery for burial is minimal.
Tanya Green, who lives in Newark and works in Westfield, said she heard from someone close to the family that they want her to be buried in peace.
Green told NJ.com,
“I would rather remember her as she was, a sweet person. remember her daughter,” Bobbi Kristina, and say a prayer for her.
Do you think it is appropriate to tell the fans where Whitney Houston will finally be laid to rest?
