Randy Moss Returning to NFL in 2012?
Randy Moss is returning to the NFL – that is, if a team is willing to pick him up in 2012.
Moss, the former Vikings, Raiders, Patriots and Titans receiver who announced his retirement in 2011 (only after he got no significant contract offers), now says he is ready to lace up his cleats and take the field once again.
“I wanna play football,” Moss said Monday morning, while chatting live with fans on USTREAM. “Your boy is going to come back here and play some football, so I’m really excited. I had some things I had to adjust in my life.”
Moss, who turned 35-years-old today, said he previously retired due to off-field issues, but his family has told him, “It’s fine, do whatever you want to do.”
“I had to really get out of the fast lane and really get a grasp on what was going on in my real life,” the 6’5? former pro-bowler said of his brief hiatus from the NFL. “I’m okay. I’m okay. I’m happy to be in the position I’m in.”
Added Moss: “Faith, family and football, that’s my M.O., bro. Your boy be back for the upcoming season.”
Moss has played 13 NFL seasons, recording 954 catches for 14,858 yards and 153 touchdowns. He played for the Patriots from 2007 until he was traded to the Vikings in the middle of the 2010 season.
In 52 games in New England, Moss had 259 receptions for 3,904 yards and 50 touchdowns.
With the news that Randy Moss is planning on making his NFL return in 2012, the question must be asked: Would you want him on your team?
