Passengers aboard a US Airways flight from Charlotte to Charleston, W. Va., were given a little scare on Sunday when the plane’s pilot was forced to make an emergency landing.
The plane landed after airline crew heard a “loud and unsettling noise” only a short period of time after the flights 2:30 p.m. ESt takeoff.
The plane quickly turned around and landed at the Charlotte/Douglas International Airport one hour after it took off.
After landing all 44 US Airways passengers were placed on different flights to their final destinations.
At this time the airline is investigating the cause of the loud engine noise which is unknown at this time.
