What would we do without Azealia Banks and her provocative statements? It appears that Azealia doesn’t like white people. She dislikes them even more if they happen to be overweight. BuzzFeed quotes Azealia talking to a magazine about her feelings.
“I hate everything about this country. Like, I hate fat white Americans. All the people who are crunched into the middle of America, the real fat and meat of America, are these racist conservative white people who live on their farms. Those little teenage girls who work at Kmart and have a racist grandma—that’s really America.”
After BuzzFeed listed the quote, they noted that Azealia Banks has been very provocative before. In December, she cried when talking about how African Americans had been taken away from their land, their customs, and their culture. She said that there was a piece of her that knows she’s not supposed to be speaking English and that she’s not supposed to be crazy about Jesus Christ. Banks then actually compared the media’s treatment of her to Lorde.
Last month, Gossip Cop posted an article about Azealia Banks defending a picture of herself in whiteface while declaring that the gay white media is evil.
“Gay media has to stop using homophobia as a means to try and victimize itself and scar the names of its opponents … Phobia would imply that I am scared of gay men or dislike them because of what they choose to do sexually … I promise, no one gives a f*ck what u decide to do in your private lives. But I also promise, that no matter how bitchy and clever you think you are… That I will out-bitch you.”
Azealia seems to be joining her idol Madonna in the race to piss off the most people. According to CNN, Madonna is under fire for referring to her hometown of Rochester, Michigan, as “basic” and “provincial.” Although Madonna was actually referring to the way she felt 40 years ago, the mayor, up for re-election, wrote her a fiery letter in response.
“We are many things, Madonna, but basic and provincial minded we are not!” Barnett said. “I invite you back to Rochester Hills to see who we are and what we believe in. While we certainly don’t need your stamp of approval, I am quite confident we would earn it.”
So far, Madonna has not responded. Is it wrong to suggest that Madonna might be collaborating on a record with Azealia Banks soon?
