Rumer Willis Has Family Support During ‘DWTS’ Triumphant Debut
Rumer Willis comes from celebrity stock, so when the young dancer made her debut on Dancing With the Stars, many fans had eyes on who might be supporting her in the audience. As US reported, Rumer’s entire family showed up to cheer her on, including long-divorced parents Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, stepmother Emma Heming and sisters Scout and Tallulah Willis. Rumer felt the love as she brought home the highest score of the night.
“I thought my sister was going berzerk! But I had been struggling with this one part and I was keeping my eyes on them and tonight I focused and seeing them all smiling, I was amazed with how good it felt to see them.”
“It was amazing, I literally had a whole section! I wanted people here tonight who love and support me unconditionally and I really felt that. I couldn’t have asked for anything else.”
Bruce and Demi did not speak during their daughter’s performance. Moore married Ashton Kutcher after divorcing Willis; Bruce and Emma Heming have two children of their own.
The Daily Mail reported that Demi Moore was originally assigned to sit next to ex-husband Bruce, but opted to sit behind her daughters, Willis and Heming. Tallulah ended up in the chair first meant for Moore. Demi broke a two-year hiatus from Twitter — her last tweet had been February 7, 2013 — to send out a message of support to Rumer. The proud mom included a photo of her daughter looking stunning.

Rumer told E! that she did not give her parents a heads up about what to expect during the show.
“To be honest, I sometimes just like to surprise them and I like to be able to not necessarily ask them anything and just let them come and see me do my thing. They were so unbelievable supportive, which was incredible.”
After the Dancing With the Stars premiere last night, The Washington Post ranked the contestants, and put Rumer and her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, in top spot. The Post noted that the judges gushed over the pair’s chemistry — and revealed that they knew each other before the show, through mutual friends. Rumer and Val were also given the plum closing spot of the show.
Other standouts, according to the Post, were Nastia Liukin and Noah Galloway.
