Who Is Riker Lynch Of The ‘Dancing With The Stars’ 2015 Spring Season?

The spring 2015 Dancing with the Stars season is ready to begin, and Riker Lynch is one of the celebrities set to compete. While many young gals are already giddy with excitement over Lynch’s participation, others are curious to learn more about him. What’s the scoop on Riker, who will be dancing with pro Allison Holker this season on DWTS?

Riker Lynch is a musician and an actor known by many as the bassist in the group R5, as Heavy notes. The band R5 also includes Riker’s brothers, Rocky and Ross, along with sister Rydel and pal Ellington Ratliff. Of course, many are already quite familiar with Ross Lynch given his role as Austin Moon on Disney’s Austin & Ally.

This new DWTS contestant has done his own bit of television, having appeared as Jeff Sterling on Glee. The character of Sterling was one of the Warblers throughout Seasons 2, 3, and 4, notes ABC. These days, Riker’s focus seems to primarily be on R5 and their music, with the hit songs “Smile,” “Loud,” and “Pass Me By” having become huge hits. The group has shared that they have big plans for 2015, with a new album on the way and many other things in the works.

There is one other key fact that is surely going to be mentioned throughout the 23-year-old’s run on Dancing with the Stars this season. Riker Lynch has a couple of pretty famous cousins who are familiar to DWTS viewers: Derek Hough and Julianne Hough. That is a tidbit that has already generated a lot of buzz among some show circles, as not everybody thinks it’s fair that Derek and Julianne’s cousin is competing.

Riker told E! Online that he doesn’t see Julianne or Derek often, and it seems Derek’s surprise return came as a shocker not only to viewers, but to Riker on announcement day as well. Lynch jokes that he had been preparing to steal Derek’s moves this season on DWTS since he thought Hough was taking this season off, but obviously that plan was thwarted.

Word via the insiders at PureDWTS indicate that Riker and Allison’s rehearsals are looking great and that he may be a big contender this season. Dancing with the Stars spoilers reveal that Lynch and Holker will tackle the jive in their first performance of the season and their voting number all season long will be 1-855-234-5608.

Can Riker and Allison take home the mirror ball trophy this season on the DWTS 2015 spring season? There are often young male singers that the teens go gaga over, but some have a hunch that Riker Lynch will bring it in a much bigger way than some, say Cody Simpson, managed in previous seasons.
