Fill Out Your Bracket, It’s 2015 NCAA Tournament Time
Fill out your bracket, college basketball fans, because it’s time for the 2015 NCAA Tournament. The official bracket was revealed by the NCAA Selection Committee on Sunday (March 15) and it contains some very competitive looking games. As CBS revealed live, the undefeated Kentucky Wildcats are the No. 1 overall seed. This should surprise nobody that has been watching college basketball this season, as the team now holds a 34-0 record.
The NCAA has created a site where it becomes very easy to fill out your bracket. A printable page also reveals the second-round game times for all four regions. The Kentucky Wildcats will be playing on the first day of the second round (March 19), once the first-round play-in games have all been decided. They will take on the winner of the first-round Manhattan vs. Hampton game from March 17.
An important fact to remember when preparing to fill out your bracket is that a No. 1 seed has never lost to a No. 16 seed. There is certainly a chance of it happening every year, but the NCAA Selection Committee does its best to ensure the four best teams get the No. 1 seeds. This year, those teams are the Kentucky Wildcats (Midwest), Villanova Wildcats (East), Duke Blue Devils (South), and Wisconsin Badgers (West).
The teams that got bumped down to the No. 2 seeds this year are also considered very good, with most of them having been in line for a top seed at one point or another during the season. Those teams are the Kansas Jayhawks (Midwest), Virginia Cavaliers (East), Gonzaga Bulldogs (South), and Arizona Wildcats (West). Vegas odds predict the best results will come from also siding with the No. 2 seeds when you fill out your bracket for the 2015 NCAA Tournament.
There are always teams to keep a close eye on when it comes to the NCAA Tournament, and it was previously reported that Harvard is a school to look at closely when you fill out your bracket. Harvard received a No. 13 seed and has a second-round game against No. 4 North Carolina in the West Region. The teams play on March 19 and it is certainly an interesting match-up of styles on paper.
For the college basketball fans that have to fill out their bracket based on the first four games, they will be played on March 17 and 18 in Dayton. One to keep an eye on is No. 11 Ole Miss vs. No. 11 Brigham Young. BYU was able to upset Gonzaga during the regular season and could possibly push other teams when the NCAA Tournament begins.
For those die-hard college basketball fans, CBS has also revealed the 2015 NIT brackets. For fans looking to fill out your bracket for the NIT field, the top seeded teams are Temple, Richmond, Colorado State, and Old Dominion. The NIT begins on March 17 with the ESPN Networks providing plenty of coverage for all first-round games.
