WWE News: Updated Official And Rumored Matches For ‘WrestleMania 31’
There are just two weeks until WrestleMania 31, and the card is looking quite great so far, but there are still a lot of question marks. Will more matches be added? How will the Undertaker be when he appears for the first time in a year? Will Brock Lesnar show up at all? Let’s take a look at the current official card and some rumored match additions.
As of Sunday, March 15, there are just seven confirmed matches and that doesn’t seem like a whole lot with an event likely to go about five hours. It’s quite possible that not all matches yet been announced, but here is what’s in place and what could be added.
The main event may not be the most anticipated match on the WrestleMania 31 card, but it is one holding a good bit of intrigue. Brock Lesnar will defend his WWE World Heavyweight Title against Roman Reigns, and now it certainly appears as if he will indeed show up. The more important question is – Will he stick around after it’s all over?
It’s looking like he may not be going anywhere, and it will be interesting to see if WWE is ready for Reigns to take control as champion. If not, then the domination of Lesnar will continue.
Now, the most anticipated match on the official card from WWE is the ladder match for the Intercontinental Title.
Bad News Barrett will defend his title against R-Truth, Dean Ambrose, Luke Harper, Dolph Ziggler, Stardust, and Daniel Bryan. This match is packed with star talent and it kind of weakens what could happen on the rest of the card, but it won’t disappoint.
Five other matches are confirmed and the first is Bray Wyatt vs. The Undertaker. This will be the first time that Taker has competed in a year, and if it lives up to the hype that Wyatt has put into building it up, then it will be masterful.
The Divas will have a tag team match with the Bellas taking on Paige and AJ Lee. John Cena will go after the United States Title against Rusev and then Sting will make his long-awaited WWE debut against Triple H.
Oh, let’s not forget the Andre The Giant Battle Royal which is rumored to have 20 superstars in it. As of March 9, 2015, here is the list of entrants:
- The Miz
- Damien Mizdow
- Sin Cara
- Ryback
- Kane
- Big Show
- Fandango
- Adam Rose
- Zack Ryder
- Erick Rowan
- Jack Swagger
- Titus O’Neil
- Darren Young
- Curtis Axel
If rumors of it just being 20 participants are true, then that leaves just six spots remaining.
Seth Rollins and Randy Orton is just an official announcement away from being added to the WrestleMania 31 card. After what happened this past Monday, it’s pretty much a given that the former Authority co-workers will battle it out.
Well, that leaves a couple of question marks remaining and a number of big names nowhere to be found, including the WWE Tag Team champions. The Brass Ring Club of Cesaro and Tyson Kidd could end up in a title defense match, but will they really face off with the Usos yet again?
Cageside Seats says that it could be a fatal four-way match with the champs, Usos, The Ascension, and possibly Los Matadores fighting for the titles. That would add another title match to the card, and one that is quite necessary.
WrestleMania 31‘s card is not quite complete, but it is looking good so far. There are confirmed and official matches while others are still rumored, but two weeks remain to add or change things as needed.
