Justin Bieber’s Beliebers Lose It In New Comedy Central Roast Promo
Justin Bieber’s Comedy Central roast cometh. Accordingly, the network is highlighting a likely reaction of at least part of the singer’s legions of Beliebers in their latest promo.
The fourth teaser is titled “Roast of Justin Bieber — The Beliebers Can’t Even.” It kicks off with a Selena Gomez look-a-like crying among a montage of young, female Beliebers all sobbing at the idea of cruel comedians tearing verbal strips off their beloved idol.
At the clip’s close, backdropped by the singer’s signature 2010 hit “Baby,” the only male in the batch is seen with a runny nose with an added time lapse effect.
The ad tag states, “Your nightmare. Our dream.”
This latest promo follows the first, egging spoof of Bieber’s misdemeanor vandalism snafu in 2014. Then there was the tattoo sketch, in which the unwitting Canadian is “inked” with a massive bullseye. The last video reveals Bieber and Roast Master General Jeffrey Ross riffing in an X-rated version of the hitmaker’s much-derided Calvin Klein ads.
The insanely anticipated “Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber” is set to be taped in Los Angeles on March 14, in front of ticket-holding members of the public, the heartthrob, and celebrity roasters and comics.
These are: Roast Master Kevin Hart — who previously vowed to make the singer almost cry — Ross, Bill Cosby’s nemesis Hannibal Buress, lifestyle guru Martha Stewart, rappers Ludacris and Snoop Dogg, ex-basketball star Shaquille O’Neal, and the comedians Chris D’elia and Natasha Leggero. SNL‘s Pete Davidson is also taking part.
In a recently released and supposedly uncensored, behind-the-scenes video, Ross shared his verdict on how prepared he thinks Bieber is for the reckoning to come.
“He’s been a great sport today,” Ross praised, adding, “He knows what’s coming. He took the jokes really well, I think he’s ready to be roasted. I think this was a good warm-up.”
Upping the ante for the March 30-airing throwdown, he went on to say, “This might be the greatest roast in Comedy Central history, I’m excited.”
Continuing the momentum, Buress, Snoop Dogg, Ross, D’Elia, Hart, and Stewart posted tweets to Bieber. Of these, Stewart presents as the most unknowable promise.
More recently, Bieber and Hart — who are pals — met up at the Will Ferrell-hosted Desert Smash charity tennis event in Palm Springs on Tuesday. Now, in its 11th edition, the fun tournament raised money for Cancer for College and drew a smattering of celebrities and professional tennis players.
Bieber was partnered with fellow Canadian pro Eugenie Bouchard, while Hart teamed up with Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush. Ferrell umpired.
From video footage, the Ride Along star is seen getting a head start on his Roast Master duties by ribbing the Biebs throughout the match, which was billed as U.S Vs. Canada.
At one point, the singer stepped off court to drink some water, prompting Kevin to tease him, saying as follows.
“Oh Justin, come on with the prima donna stuff,” adding, in a mocking, whiny voice, “My name is Justin Bieber, I need a water break.”
Right after the game, Bush got back to his day job and interviewed Hart and Bieber about the looming public skewering.
The Get Hard star promised the March 30 airing event wouldn’t be “malicious” or “mean” but would be “in the great spirit of fun.”
When Bush asked Bieber if he was nervous, the singer replied “Man, I’ve gotta say I’m a little nervous, but it should be a lot of fun.”
Interestingly, Bieber clenched his jaw at least four times in the interview, suggesting he’s not feeling quite as breezy about the roast as he sounds in the video below.
Get ready Beliebers.
Its roast of JB, so everything about him will get made fun of, and us fans are a big part of him so we will be made fun of too
