Dying Light has gotten its Hard Mode as well as new weapons. Unfortunately, Dying Light has also gotten some new framerate issues. The lastest update, officially known as update 1.5 released yesterday after a few weeks of hype, especially surrounding a new hard mode.
The Dying Light update brought this new Hard Mode as well as new outfits, gear, a gold weapon rarity level, and a lot of new guns and objects that can be used to put the undead back in the ground. As Softpedia points out, the new DLC also brings balance tweaks for weapons, loot chests, new side quests and other changes and improvements to Dying Light .
Unfortunately, it appears this new update is also bringing some significant framerate issues when it comes to PC users. This shouldn’t exactly come as a surprise to those who are playing Dying Light on their computer. Quite a few of the new generation of games that have been released on the PS4 and Xbox One alongside the PC have had some pretty obvious graphical errors.
What makes it especially frustrating for Dying Light players is that these issues were apparently not present before the update. As of now, Techland hasn’t said anything about the issues that came along with the Dying Light patch. That could mean they were caught unawares or it could mean the issue is small enough they aren’t ready to take it head on just yet.
For those who are playing on another platform or haven’t seen the issues being complained about, Hard Mode might be everything Dying Light fans have been waiting for as far as getting a real challenge. According to EGMNow , there are a number of tweaks in the mode that will indeed make playing the game a brand new experience.
Among the changes brought by the new mode are the fact that nights last twice as long and bigger bads known as volatiles don’t show up on the mini-map any more. Across the board, enemies are stronger and harder to kill, partly because melee combat requires greater precision. Should you get hurt in Hard Mode you’re going to be in trouble because health regeneration is slower. Finally and what could be the most important change is that going into the inventory no longer pauses the game. This means that you need to make sure to have everything ready when you find yourself in the middle of a meleee in Dying Light these days.
