Floyd Mayweather Jr., Manny Pacquiao Can’t Fight Brock Lesnar’s Weight Combined, Says Paul Heyman
Oh my, aren’t those just fighting words? According to WWE manager Paul Heyman, both Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao could not hope to match Brock Lesnar’s weight in the ring. But is Heyman just spitting out bluster, or is there a little kernel of truth among his promotions?
In a related report by the Inquisitr, it’s possible Brock Lesnar’s UFC career could start again in 2015, and Heyman also claims it’s possible Lesnar could unify the UFC and WWE Heavyweight Championship belts.
Paul Heyman levied the insult at Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao during a Monday Night RAW promo, where he was bashing wrestler Roman Reigns, who will be facing off against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31. During this promo, Heyman boasted his client could beat up both Pacquiao and Mayweather if he felt so inclined.
“If Brock Lesnar decides to go to Las Vegas and smack around Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao — by the way, do you realize that if you combine Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao together, they’d still be 10 pounds shy — that’s what Brock Lesnar is going to do,” said Heyman.
Of course, Heyman did not clarify if Lesnar could take them on in boxing or in the wrestling ring. If you are not a wrestling fan, you might be surprised to hear that Floyd Mayweather’s WWE career already resulted in a win. Mayweather won a No Disqualification match against Big Show in WrestleMania 24, which proves that he can take on a 425-pound opponent more than twice his bodyweight. Pacquiao has also joked about becoming a professional wrestler, but otherwise it hasn’t happened — yet.
So what about Paul Heyman’s claim about Brock Lesnar’s weight? Floyd Mayweather’s weight clocks in at 151 pounds, and Manny Pacquiao’s weight is at 144 pounds. Add the two together and that’s 295 pounds, putting their combined weight a little higher than Lesnar’s 286 pounds. Keep in mind that the official WWE weight lists tend to be a wee little inflated, so it’s possible their combined weight actually beats Lesnar even more. But Lesnar’s weight has also been dropping in recent months under the expectation he plans on moving toward UFC.
In the end, Paul Heyman’s RAW promo is only intended to hype Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 31. At this point, it seems unlikely that Brock Lesnar and Floyd Mayweather Jr., or Manny Pacquiao, will ever meet for a fight, whether it be wrestling, boxing, or perhaps even MMA. If you ever see Lesnar take on both men at the same time, then you might look in the sky for flying pig.
If you could have a fantasy fighting match, who would you have Brock Lesnar take on, and which sport would you prefer?
