Zsa Zsa Gabor Celebrates 95th Birthday

Zsa Zsa Gabor continues to lead the Grim Reaper on a merry dance – the screen siren hit her 95th birthday on Monday, despite a string of well-documented illnesses and medical scares. We’re a little late with our well wishes, but we hope Ms. Gabor will forgive us.

After spending 2009 discussing her desire for a baby (umm …), the Hungarian-born socialite and actress had her leg amputated in 2010, and in the same year was rushed to hospital countless times. In November 2011, she was carted back to hospital for internal bleeding and an infection.

However, Zsa Zsa presses on, and she even found the energy to invite friends and the media to a birthday party on Monday at the estate she shares with her husband, Frederic Prinz von Anhalt. Her invitation showed her sense of humor was still in robust health:

“Over the years I may have overlooked a year or two (or 20), but not this year. I will no longer be ageless, it will be my … um … er, 95th birthday. (Boy that was tough)”

Apparently, the numbers ‘9’ and ‘5’ were in far smaller type than the rest of the note, but we wouldn’t know as, well … we’re calmly assuming The Inquisitr’s invite was lost in the mail. It’s okay. These things happen.

A spokesperson for Gabor mentioned that some pretty big names RSVPed, including Quincy Jones, Chubby Checker, Nancy Reagan and Kirk Kerkorian. A very happy belated birthday to you, ma’am, and here’s to you reaching a grand three figures and beyond.
