iPhone 6 Shipments Increase Ahead Of Samsung Galaxy S6 Release

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have pushed iPhone shipments past 700 million. According to Apple Insider, Apple CEO Tim Cook made an announcement on Monday that the company has sold more than 700 million iPhones since its 2007 launch. This comes just a couple months after Apple announced the sale of its one billionth iOS device.

Apple Insider goes on to reveal that in the 4th quarter of 2014, Apple sold around 75 million iPhone 6 and 6 Plus units. Apple is expected to announce excellent sales for the first quarter of 2015 next month. Though most stores have the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in stock, it’s not easy to get the exact color iPhone you want. If people are impressed with the iPhone 6, they will be even more impressed with the iPhone 6s. TheMotley Fool talks about an exciting new alleged feature of the upcoming new iPhone.

“The newest rumor is Apple is looking to put its carrier-agnostic SIM card in the iPhone 6s. If so, this could be the best way for Apple to ensure its iPhone will continue to enrich shareholders for years to come.”

What does this mean for the consumer? The Motley Fool claims that with Apple’s new SIM, you don’t have to change your SIM card, especially if you are going to a new carrier. All you have to do is change your carrier by going into the settings. The new SIM card is just one of the many alleged new features on the iPhone 6s.

According to Venture Capital Post, the iPhone 6s will have some other exciting features: wireless charging capabilities, a removal of the bezel from the screen, a 20MP rear camera, a Quad HD screen and more RAM (2GB). However, the iPhone 6S (and the 6 Plus) will have to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S6, which Trusted Reviews believes is definitely an improvement over last year’s version.

“The Galaxy S5 was a great phone overall, but it fell short on materials and design. This year’s flagship looks familiar, but it feels more like the premium phone its price demands and answers those criticisms that we had of last year’s phone.”

The Samsung Galaxy S6 will be compatible with the Gear VR virtual reality headset. There have been suggestions that Apple is working on a virtual reality headset for both the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus. It’s quite clear that Samsung and Apple have really put a lot of work into their new products. The Galaxy S6 and the iPhone 6s, as well as the 6s Plus, should sell millions by the end of 2015.
