CW Arrow ‘Spin-Off’: Caity Lotz Confirms Her Involvement, But Will Sara Lance Be Resurrected?
The CW has maintained its status as comic book adaptation central, from Smallville to Arrow and the Flash to a new spin-off series that has yet to be named. The Inquisitr reported last Sunday that the CW was looking to produce a new spin-off, and it was going to carry several of its current characters over into the new show. The cast has been said to include Brandon Routh, Victor Garber, Wentworth Miller, and Caity Lotz. Up until this point, the word has been mum regarding any updates for the new CW show.
However, one actress has confirmed the CW project and their involvement. According to Comicbook.com, Caity Lotz answered a big question at this year’s Fan Fest and discussed the future of her Arrow character Sara Lance. In the response, she delved into the spin-off.
“Sara Lance definitely died in Episode 1 of Season 3 — oh, spoiler alert! Sorry if you’re not caught up, and then…has anybody heard about the spinoff? So there is a new show in development and I’m so excited to finally be able to talk about this. The Atom, Firestorm, my character and, so I guess that is a big thing that’s going on and everyone keeps asking me when they see on the Internet, ‘Well, you’re dead. How are you going to be in the new show? Is it just going to be flashbacks or are you playing a whole new character? Are you Sara Lance? I would love to tell you, but I think they might kill me.”
Despite the unintentional pun, they do not seem to be killing her or keeping her character dead for too long. Some speculation has suggested she could take a dip in the infamous Lazarus pit, but it would be hard with her body buried for so long. Then again, who knows?
According to TV Line, there have also been other characters announced for this new CW spin-off.
THE TRAVELER – “A Han Solo-esque rogue who gets by with his charm, this hero hails from the future, and has journeyed back in time on a secret mission. His razor-sharp wit hides the pain of a man who has lived through serious conflict. He also harbors many secrets, always leaving both his teammates and the audience unsure of his true allegiances.”
FEMALE WARRIOR – “This twenty-something Latina is pretty but unassuming, book smart and socially awkward by day. But by night, when she hears the cry of battle, her fury is ignited and she becomes a fierce warrior — so much so, that sometimes she can become a threat to others.”
MYSTERY HERO – “An African-American male in his twenties will fill the role of a regular, street smart guy who unexpectedly gains powers, and then, as part of the team, regularly quips about the insanity of the situations.”
The suggestions and rumors abound, but for now we still do not know who these new CW characters are or who will play them.
