Ellie Goulding Joins ‘The Voice,’ Earns Praise From Adam Levine
Ellie Goulding has officially joined Adam Levine’s team on The Voice as a musical advisor, according to People Magazine, and she’s already earning praise from the Maroon 5 singer.
“Ellie was so great. She’s so human and easy to talk to. You could tell she had a profound impact on my team, which is awesome,” Levine said.
Goulding took to Instagram to share a photo of herself with Levine earlier this week and described her time on the show as “awesome.” It’s not her first time appearing on the popular singing competition, however; she showed up during season five to perform her hit song “Burn.”
If anyone can give good advice to some aspiring musicians, it’s Goulding. Her hit song “Love Me Like You Do,” from the Fifty Shades Of Grey soundtrack, has spent several weeks at number one on the U.K. singles charts, beating out Hozier’s “Take Me To Church.”

Ellie joins Lionel Richie, Nick Jonas, and Meghan Trainor for the current season; Richie recently spoke about his time in the music business and said that what a lot of contestants on the show don’t realize is that they don’t have to win the competition in order to have a successful career.
“That is the most important part is to understand the fact that you could actually lose and have the career. When you win, you have to be a superstar the next day. It’s a lot of pressure. If you lose, you didn’t lose, you learned. So you could take that. Take about three months back, four months back. Develop what you learned and be stronger than the actual winner,” he told Access Hollywood.
Coach Pharrell Williams echoed that sentiment, saying he tells everyone on his team the same thing.
“I try to tell all of the people on my team everyone’s going home, even the winner, and that person is not guaranteed success. So, what are you going to use this show for? This show is your platform,” Williams said.
Ellie Goulding has been on a bit of a break recently before taking on The Voice, hitting the beaches in Australia with her boyfriend, Dougie Poynter, whose band is touring with One Direction. The singer caused a bit of controversy with her relationship, as she was previously linked to One Direction’s Niall Horan. However, Poynter has said that there are no hard feelings.
“We’re all big enough and ugly enough to not really care. We all have exes don’t we… It’s not a big deal, it’s not like it was a marriage,” Poynter said.
