‘Bachelor’ Chris Soules Has One Regret, And It’s About Britt Nilsson, Not Whitney Bischoff Or Becca Tilley
The one takeaway from Britt Nilsson’s appearance on the Bachelor: Women Tell All special was that she was still not quite over Chris Soules. She tearfully told host Chris Harrison that, were it not for the other women’s sabotage, she might have walked away with the final rose.
Chris Soules sees it a bit differently. In a People interview after the program, he admitted he doesn’t quite understand the level of Britt’s emotion.
“Still, to this day, I was honest with her. She apologized and I accepted her apology, but I don’t really … we just did the best we could, and it wasn’t there.”
He also said the Bachelor: Women Tell All editors did not show everything that happened on-set that day.
“[T]he world didn’t see the entire conversation that we had, and we had a positive discussion that wasn’t at all about her reacting during the group date.”
Soules is referring to the group date when Kaitlyn Bristowe received the rose, leaving the other women, including Britt, to wait until the rose ceremony to see if they were staying in the competition. During the date, Britt reacted emotionally in front of the other women, claiming she needed validation from Soules since he would meet her family if she stuck around for another week.
Chris Harrison revealed to TV Guide before the Women Tell All special that he thinks Britt is still in love with Chris.
Soules told People he does have one regret from the entire season: sneaking off to a Big & Rich concert with Britt during a group date while the remaining women were left wondering where they were.
“[M]aybe I could have handled that differently.”
Variety notes that Britt’s extensive airtime Monday night could be to prepare viewers for her turn as The Bachelorette — if she gets that job. Producer Mike Fleiss tweeted that the decision has yet to be made, although it’s down to Britt Nilsson, Kaitlyn Bristowe or even the onion-grower Ashley Salter. It is possible Fleiss was kidding on that last option.
My mom wants Britt, my sister wants Kaitlyn, but my Ouija board says Ashley S…

Chris Soules told People he would like to see Kaitlyn as the next person to hand out roses. Bristowe also has the vote of former Bachelor contestant Sharleen Joynt. As for Soules, he’s down to his final two, Becca Tilley and Whitney Bischoff.
The finale of The Bachelor and the post-finale special After the Final Rose air Monday on ABC.
