The Twitter world must have been in shock to see Kanye finally apologize to Beck for ruining his Grammys moment. To be fair, Kanye didn’t grab the mic from Beck’s hand to publicly rant against “them” like he did at the 2009 VMAs when Taylor Swift took the stage, but he came close. Initially, Kanye storming the stage as Beck stepped to accept his award for best album was interpreted as a joke, even by Jay Z, who initially looked horrified at the apparent repeat of the Taylor Swift incident. More than two weeks after the incident, Kanye apologized to Beck via Twitter.
I would like to publicly apologize to Beck, I’m sorry Beck.

Today, Hollywood Life reported that Kanye was forced to apologize by mom-in-law, Kris Jenner. Their sources say that Jenner, who manages her daughters, Kim and Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner, was finding it more and more difficult to book deals for Kim because of Kanye’s erratic behavior. Kris is trying to present a cleaned-up image of Kanye, starting with the apology to Beck. Hollywood Life quotes an inside source as saying the following.
“Kris Jenner finally got Kanye to apologize to Beck because Kris has been having trouble making deals for Kim with Kanye doing all these stupid things he does, people who are making deals with the Kardashians don’t want to commit to do something with the family and then have Kanye ruin it all.”
But, the apologies didn’t stop with Beck. Kanye also apologized to Bruno Mars for his part in their long-standing beef. He even invited Mars to work on one of his projects.
I also want to publicly apologize to Bruno Mars, I used to hate on him but I really respect what he does as an artist.

I also would love for Bruno to sing this hook on this song 88 Keys / Puff and I produced… I even asked Tyler to shoot the vid.

These apologies raise a few questions. Is it too late for Kanye to clean up his image? Are Kanye’s apologies enough to get Kim and the gals back into the good graces of the deal-makers? Most importantly, are these apologies a sincere sign of a new, more mature, self-controlled Kanye, or will he revert to the hot-headed behavior we all know and love?
