‘Minecraft’ Update Released Across Xbox Platforms Alongside ‘The Simpsons’ DLC Pack
It’s a good day for fans of 4J Studios’ console ports of Minecraft after the developer released a new minor update and DLC for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of the creative sandbox game. Released today, Xbox owners can now download a new Minecraft patch as well as the anticipated new skin pack based on The Simpsons.
4J Studios released details on the update for Minecraft Xbox editions in a post from the game’s official forums. The path focuses entirely on addressing known issues that Minecraft players might encounter while playing on Microsoft consoles. The developer revealed a complete list of changes and bug fixes that were introduced in this week’s newest Minecraft update.
- Fixed issue placing Pistons, Dispensers and Droppers.
- Added Quick Move to the Horse Inventory.
- Made some fixes to player privileges.
- Corrected Baby Zombie hit boxes size.
- Added “Where are we now” Music Disc in Survival Mode.
- Fix for a bug where a Chest didn’t disappear when destroyed
- Fix for player sometimes taking fall damage while in a boat.
- Fixed an issue where a player’s wolves could teleport to them when they were in a boat, and kill them.
- Updated Lapis Lazuli block texture.
In addition to releasing a new Minecraft patch on Xbox platforms, The Simpsons skin pack DLC is now finally available for purchase on the Xbox One and Xbox 360. It became clear that the Minecraft add-on was close to being released after the Inquisitr reported on a surprise Xbox One update which allowed fans to preview the new Simpsons avatar skins inside the game.
The Simpsons DLC gives Minecraft fans the opportunity to play as a variety of popular Springfield residents. Besides the Simpson family members, the licensed DLC includes 19 other characters from the popular animated show. To commemorate the release of the new skin pack, Microsoft’s official Xbox news blog named every single new avatar skin that is included in the latest Minecraft add-on.

Like other recent licensed Minecraft DLC packs, The Simpsons add-on is currently only available on Xbox consoles. However, 4J Studios told fans on Friday that they hope to eventually release all possible Minecraft content on Playstation platforms as well.
