According to a source, users will be able to make Apple Pay purchases with the Apple Watch if they own the iPhone 5s. The smartwatch is expected to be released in April of this year, along with the iOS 8.2 software update.

The Apple iPhone 5s currently doesn’t support Apple Pay, but users will be able to communicate with their Apple Watch paired to the device. Users can also make payments through Apple Pay from their smartwatch. The Apple Watch will also allow users to access the latest features that are not available on the Apple iPhone 5s.

Another online source noted that you will be able to pair the Apple Watch to your iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, and the iPhone 5. You will also be able to make purchases at retailers that support Apple Pay. The only way to know is to look for the Apple Pay logo at the store you’re purchasing from. The number of retailers that are offering the Apple Pay option is expected to grow.
