Original story below:
Call of Duty fans on non-Microsoft platforms can rejoice as the Advanced Warfare “Havoc” DLC launches today. The “Havoc” DLC hits PC, PlayStation 4 and PlaySation 3 today after a month of exclusivity on the Xbox One and Xbox 360.
“Havoc” brings new weapons and some new multiplayer maps to Advanced Warfare , though the highlight of the content is the much sought-after Exo Zombie Survival mode. The new zombie mode allows you to take the role of four Atlas employees with the parts being played by Hollywood actors including John Malkovich and Bill Paxton .
By all accounts, the “Havoc” DLC has been great for the Call of Duty game, with Xbox users playing it quite prolifically, though the DLC hasn’t launched without issues. After the Xbox launch, players reported issues with the the DLC and connecting Advanced Warfare players together on Microsoft’s servers. Hopefully with a month to work this out, PC and Sony Call of Duty players won’t have to worry about this.
“Havoc” is just the first of four DLCs planned by the Call of Duty developers, with the other DLCs named “Ascendance,” “Supremacy” and “Reckoning.” This DLC is part of the $50 Season Pass for Advanced Warfare , but if you don’t believe in purchasing content before it’s released you can pick it up for $15.
Call of Duty is one of the largest franchises in gaming today, so it’s no surprise the DLC has been eagerly awaited on PC and Playstation. However, even before this DLC has hit every platform, the next Call of Duty reveal event was “teased,” allegedly, for May. This would put the reveal event along the normal Call of Duty reveal timeline for years past, with previous games being revealed normally a month before E3. While this reveal hasn’t officially been confirmed, the tease does look legitimate enough.
In other Call of Duty news, the Inquisitr recently reported on Call of Duty launching a film festival for its fans. The Advanced Warfare videos will be posted on the official Facebook page, according to the report. Also, in addition to the DLC, Call of Duty will be receiving a popular gun mode in the game.
While the exclusivity of this DLC is gone, the next Call of Duty DLCs will likely be time exclusives to Xbox in the future as well. However, with three more packs to hit the game, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has a long life ahead of it.
