‘Rayman Legends’ Xbox One Free In March Plus ‘Tomb Raider’ And ‘BioShock Infinite’
Microsoft’s Games with Gold program will receive its first retail release for the Xbox One in March. The lineup has been dominated by digital only titles, but now Ubisoft’s Rayman Legends will be the first free game in the program for the current-gen console. Meanwhile, Xbox 360 owners will get two AAA releases from 2013, and there’s twice the number of games coming in April.
Xbox LIVE Gold subscribers will be able to download the four-player co-op romp, Rayman Legends, free for the Xbox One starting March 1 through March 31. For the Xbox 360, Tomb Raider will be free to download from March 1 through March 15, and BioShock Infinite will be available for free from March 16 through the end of the month.
Microsoft also announced that Xbox LIVE Gold subscribers have download over 100,000,000 Games with Gold titles since the program was first announced at E3 2013. To celebrate this achievement, Games with Gold will offer two free Xbox One and four free Xbox 360 titles in April.
Xbox LIVE Gold subscriptions are priced at $59.99 for 12 months or $24.99 for three months. However, the 12-month subscription can regularly be found for around $40. You can currently get a card or a code from Walmart and the Microsoft Store for $39.99. In addition to the free monthly games, it also grants access to online multiplayer for both Xbox consoles.

“It’s hard to capture in words the sheer wonderment that Rayman Legends brings to the small screen. Rayman Legends was built so that anyone can play it, with every aspect of platform gaming done so well that it’s impossible not to love it. It’s got beautifully drawn levels, hilarious situations, a truly fantastic original score, and – most importantly – brilliantly designed gameplay that challenges you without ever becoming repetitive. Did we mention that it’s an absolutely massive game with branching level design and oodles of unlockable content? Oh, and it’s got local co-op for up to four people, too. You’d better download this one while you can get it for free. Seriously.”

“In the first half of March Xbox 360 gamers get a fantastic title in Square Enix’s reboot of the Tomb Raider series. Experience the intense origin story of Lara Croft and her ascent from a young woman to a hardened survivor. Armed only with her raw instincts, Lara must fight to unravel the dark history of a forgotten island to escape its relentless hold. Apart from being tremendously fun, Tomb Raider is a beautiful game that features pulse-pounding combat, epic action sequences, environmental puzzles, and tombs to discover.”
“Finally, BioShock Infinite, one of the most award-winning games of all-time, is now free to Xbox 360 gamers in March. The game puts players into the shoes of U.S. Cavalry veteran turned hired gun, Booker DeWitt. Indebted to the wrong people and with his life on the line, DeWitt has only one opportunity to wipe his slate clean. He must rescue Elizabeth, a mysterious girl imprisoned since childhood and locked up in the flying city of Columbia. Forced to trust one another, Booker and Elizabeth form a powerful bond during their daring escape. Together, they learn to harness an expanding arsenal of weapons and abilities, as they fight on zeppelins in the clouds, along high-speed Sky-Lines, and down in the streets of Columbia, all while surviving the threats of the air-city and uncovering its dark secret.”
