Kim Kardashian Beauty Secrets: Her Shocking Hair Care Confession
When Kim Kardashian shares her beauty secrets, women are going to listen. Love or hate the reality show star, it’s impossible to deny that her skin always looks flawless and her hair always looks healthy. However, her favorite beauty products seem to change from interview to interview, so you’d probably spend ten years’ pay trying to buy every item on the massive list of lotions and potions that she’s recommended over the years.
Into the Gloss recently asked Kim Kardashian to spill her current beauty secrets, and Kim explained that she keeps changing up the moisturizers and cleansers that she uses because she really enjoys trying out new products. However, she does practice brand loyalty when it comes to her foundation — she’s been using Joe Blasco Ultrabase Foundation ($19.50) since age 14. Kardashian got hooked after her late father sent her to Joe Blasco makeup school.
Kim shared a lengthy list of some of her current favorite products, and most mere mortals definitely can’t afford to follow her very detailed beauty routine — Jezebel calculated that the total cost of Kim’s beauty haul is almost $2,000.
The priciest items on Kim’s list include Shakti Resculpting Body Cream ($155), Guerlain Orchidée Impériale The Rich Cream moisturizer ($455), and a Quasar MD Plus ($795). This last item is an LED light therapy machine that Kardashian uses to treat her psoriasis.
There is one surprisingly affordable item on Kim’s list of beauty faves: budget-friendly Neutrogena Make-Up Remover Cleansing Towelettes ($1.83). Kardashian says that the wipes even get rid of the massive amount of Lancôme Définicils High Definition Mascara ($27.50) that she wears on her partially-fake lashes.
Kim Kardashian fans probably won’t find it very shocking that she spends a massive amount of money on skincare products and cosmetics. During her interview with Into the Gloss, Kim revealed that she actually enjoys the entire product/makeup application process, not just the results that she gets from using them.
“I have so many friends who don’t wear makeup and hardly ever do their hair. I feel really blessed because I genuinely love the process of getting my hair and makeup done. Even beyond that, I just love to take care of my skin.”
What will shock Kardashian fans is how surprisingly low-maintenance her hair care routine is. According to Kim, she only washes her hair once every five days.
“For my hair, I don’t wash it every day,” she revealed. “We start out with a blowout on day one, then we go into a messier vibe the next day, and then we flat iron it and do a really sleek look on day three since that requires a little oil in the hair. Day four could be a slicked-back ponytail, and on the fifth day is when you wash it.”
Last year, Kim Kardashian also talked to Women’s Wear Daily about her hair care routine, and she revealed a crucial detail about her second shampoo-free day — she uses dry shampoo to create texture and combat oiliness. The product is a must for gals who want to preserve their blowouts by avoiding washing their hair. According to OK! Magazine, Kardashian hairstylist Jen Atkin is a fan of Klorane Dry Shampoo ($20).
When it comes to regular shampoo, there’s no telling which product Kim Kardashian is currently using every five days. According to the Daily Mail, Kim once confessed to keeping her bathroom stocked with 20 different shampoos to choose from.
Kim has a lot less hair to take care of these days. As the Inquisitr previously reported, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star recently lopped of her luscious long locks. Her new edgy cut was reportedly Kanye West’s idea, and it’s rumored that Kardashian is not a fan of the look.
