New ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ Poster: What We’ve Learned From It
The hype for Avengers: Age Of Ultron has been understandably muted in what appears to be an attempt to avoid spoiling potentially-iconic Avengers moments. All the same, enthusiasm for the blockbuster is still at a high, and on the same day as the finale of their ABC series, Agent Carter, they have released a new poster for the flick that shows the main cast in its entirety. Check it out below!
Front-and-center in the poster, we have all six returning Avengers: Hawkeye, Hulk, Black Widow, Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America. Off to the left is Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury, and at the top right are newbies Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver (not to be confused with X-Men: Days Of Future Past‘s Quicksilver).
In the upper third of the poster flies Vision, obscured from the viewer’s sight by the sun. Unlike with the previous Avengers movie, it looks like Whedon and company are determined to make sure viewers have as pure an experience while watching Age Of Ultron as possible. Vision seems to be a key thing they want to keep under wraps, as most of the official images have him in the distance with his back to the viewer.
So what other nuggets can we find in the Avengers: Age Of Ultron one-sheet? The astute folks at Screen Rant noticed one other small detail that can only be seen if you zoom in on the text at the bottom. If you look closely enough, you’re able to see the name “Anthony Mackie” under the list of actors.
What does that mean? Well, it means that we’ll be seeing Falcon make a triumphant return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The last we saw this character was at the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier when he decided to go along with Cap to find Bucky Barnes and hopefully turn him to the side of good. What kind of appearance can we expect from Falcon in Avengers: Age Of Ultron?
Admittedly, it’s a hard question to answer, as the Avengers roster has grown so crowded, you have to wonder if it’ll collapse under its own weight. With that in mind, will Mackie’s Sam Wilson ever don the Falcon wings this time around? That’s a possibility, but not a necessity. There have been rumors that the conclusion of Age Of Ultron will have Cap recruiting new Avengers, so it’s possible he could be one of the recruits.
