‘Glee’ Filming Wraps: Lea Michele Takes Special Cory Monteith Memento

The final season of Glee has officially finished filming and Lea Michele and the rest of the cast have said their final goodbye to the groundbreaking musical comedy series, but Lea just couldn’t leave without taking something very special from set as her own personal souvenir.

Hollywood Life reports that Lea Michele left the set of Glee for the last time with a special memento, Finn’s framed jersey. Fans of the show know that Cory Monteith, the actor who played Finn Hudson on the series was not only Lea’s on screen love, but her real-life boyfriend.

Sadly, Cory will not be there to celebrate the end of the series with his fellow cast members as he died from a heroin overdose on July 13, 2013, shocking the entire fan base of the series. After a hiatus, Glee marched on without it’s star Cory Monteith and quarterback Finn Hudson, who was killed off on the series and given a very emotional tribute.

In the episode, Finn’s football jersey, number 5, was retired and it has been seen hanging, framed in the McKinley High locker room in episodes following the death of the character. However, now that the show has wrapped filming Finn’s jersey will have a new home with Lea Michele where it rightfully belongs, and where she’ll look back on her days on Glee with fondness and remember her lost love.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Glee cast including Chris Colfer, who plays Kurt Hummel on the show, revealed to Entertainment Tonight that saying goodbye to the show was one of the most emotional things they’ve had to do.

“Oh, my God. Well, we just wrapped it last night and tears were flowing like blood in a red wedding. I wasn’t even expecting it to be so emotional, but it was pretty emotional.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the final season of Glee has already been huge, as fans recently watched the double wedding of Kurt and Blaine and Brittany and Santana, the show’s resident same sex couples, who traveled to Indiana to have their marriages be legal and have Kurt’s father, Burt, officiate the ceremony.

While it looks like a happy ending for the couples known as “Klaine” and “Britana” fans are also hoping that Lea Michele’s character Rachel Berry will have a happy ending, possibly with Sam Evans, who is probably the character most like Cory Monteith’s Finn on the series.
