Will Dakota Fanning’s New Movies Be Screaming For Oscars Someday?

If you know Dakota Fanning, you simultaneously know screaming. As a child, her shriek pierced the ears of millions. Well, it seems she has four new movies coming within the next two years, two of which are already in post-production.

Aside from the recent talks of love with her boyfriend and her Oscars appearance, Dakota has not stopped her film career. According to the Internet Movie Database (IMDb), 2011 was the only year she didn’t have a project come out in the last decade. Not only has she been insanely busy in movies, but Fanning has also covered other outlets amid her profession.

Dakota, having just turned 21, has never really been one to act her age. Highly-mature as she is, even the aforementioned tweets — legitimate as they are — aren’t from her actual Twitter page. Turns out, Fanning doesn’t have a page. In an interview with Wonderland Magazine some years ago, she mentioned “never” getting one.

“I really don’t need to let people know where I am and what I’m doing. I feel like a lot of people want their privacy but yet they tell people where they are.

“It’s just not for me. I don’t have a Facebook or Twitter and I won’t ever. There’s plenty of impostors out there. There’s enough Dakota Fannings on Twitter for all of us.”

And as can be seen from search results, there is no verified page to date.

However, as private as she may be, IMDb gives the details about her upcoming movies. As previously mentioned, the 17-time-awarded Fanning has four new films releasing various times in 2015 and 2016.

One of these is called Franny. In this movie, Fanning is playing the part of “Olivia,” and she’s accompanied by other actors such as Theo James, Richard Gere (Franny) and Clarke Peters. While Dakota is known for her screaming, it may not be the case for this film. It’s labeled as a drama. The movie’s plot states as follows.

“A philanthropist meddles in the lives of newly-married couples in an attempt to relive his past.”

This film is shot in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and has no definite release date. However, it will be in 2015.

Another of Fanning’s movie is called Viena and the Fantomes. It’s actually a dramatic romance musical. Dakota plays the lead role of Viena, accompanied by Evan Rachel White and Zoe Kravitz. Accordingly, this film’s location is set to be in Nevada, with an estimated budget of $2.3 million. According to the information on IMDb, this story’s plot reads as follows.

“In the era of analog, our film follows the intense times of a young girl named Viena [Fanning], as she travels with the Fantomes, a post punk band on tour through the American west. When the band has the possibility of sudden success, Viena finds herself involved in a love triangle that will test all of her convictions.”

Likewise, this film doesn’t have a set release date but will be in 2015. But so far, possibly no trademark-Dakota screams. In American Pastoral, Fanning plays as Merry Levov, working alongside Jennifer Connelly and Ewan McGregor. American Pastoral releases in 2016 — but with no set date. This film’s plot reads as follows.

“Set in postwar America, a man watches his seemingly perfect life fall apart as his daughter’s new political affiliation threatens to destroy their family.”

So, in this one, Dakota is the daughter. Since there may be acts of dysfunctionalism, there may possibly be screaming in this film. This movie is also shot in Pennsylvania, by way of Pittsburgh. This movie is just now going into pre-production.

Lastly, another of her 2016 films is Brain On Fire. The plot reads as follows.

“A look at a young woman’s rapid descent into insanity.”

A rapid descent into insanity? Um, yes. This has a high probability that there will be screaming and shrieking involved in this film. In this movie, Dakota plays the part of Susannah Cahalan. Not much information is given except that it’s a biography-drama and will be released in Canada and Ireland.

So, only time will tell if Fanning may turn on the adult screaming vocals.
