Is Kelly Bensimon Returning To ‘RHONY?’ Her Former Co-Star Speaks Out

Kelly Bensimon parted ways with The Real Housewives of New York City after the series’ fourth season, but could she be on her way back? In a new interview, Bensimon’s former co-star, LuAnn de Lesseps, spoke of her possible return.

In a February 23 interview with OK! Magazine, de Lesseps said she knew nothing of Kelly Bensimon’s alleged comeback, or of the rumored return of Jill Zarin, who also left the series after season four.

“I don’t know anything about Jill and Kelly returning to the show. That’s news to me.”

Also speaking to OK! Magazine regarding season seven, Heather Thomson explained, “It’s different than any other season you’ll ever see. It’s different than any of the other franchises that we’ve seen. There are very genuine relationships going on and I think that makes for a different type of mix.”

Carole Radziwill spoke out, as well, expressing her excitement in having Bethenny Frankel on board.

“She’s terrific. I think it’s a great cast and it’s going to be a good season!”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Kelly Bensimon made headlines earlier this year after it was reported that she was filming for season seven. At the time, as Radar Online reported, a source told In Touch Weekly that Bravo had opted to bring Bensimon back to stir the pot with Frankel.

When the two women were on the show together, sparks flew after Bensimon told Frankel she simply wasn’t on her level. Frankel also butted heads with Zarin after the two women had a falling out.

In an April 2014 interview with Wetpaint Entertainment, Bensimon spoke of the possibility of returning to The Real Housewives of New York City, confirming she would come back if the circumstances were ideal.

“I loved being on the show and meeting these women and observing their lives. The only way that I would actually ever consider coming back is if I could actually show my real life and be able to celebrate who I am, versus being in a scene with women I don’t know. Forcing an undercurrent makes the viewer really unsettled. Just let the cameras roll, let the women go for it. Why do you stop filming? When we were in Morocco, all of the best things that happened were after the cameras finished. Me sitting in my underwear drinking wine with LuAnn and Sonja crying? I mean, that’s like TV gold.”
