Tim And Faith Turn Heads On Oscars Red Carpet On Tim’s Big Night

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill turned some heads as they walked the red carpet at last night’s Academy Awards. Tim attended the event to perform one of the nominees in the Best Original Song category. He took to the stage during the event to perform “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” from the Glen Campbell tour documentary, Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me.

At the event, Faith Hill showed her new pixie haircut, and Tim opted to shave off his normal facial hair. Faith first sported her new shorter hair at the Tim Ford fashion show at New York Fashion Week last week.

Tim admitted he was a bit nervous about performing the Glen Campbell song on stage during the event when he spoke to Ryan Seacrest for E! News.

“We were just talking off-camera about how this one makes you nervous. It’s such a big event and there’s so many great people out here. And this is a pretty special song. To be asked to do this, and be at this, and with Glen and the legacy he’s left in music, it’s pretty special.”

The singer admitted he was nervous when he saw his wife Faith perform at the event back in the early 2000s. She performed her song from Pearl Harbor, “There You’ll Be.”

Faith Hill did offer her husband a bit advice about the event, according to Taste of Country.

“Take a few very deep breaths before going out. He’s ready, he’s prepared … We all love Glen so much.”

“I’m Not Gonna Miss You” was penned by Glen Campbell and Julian Raymond, and it took home a Grammy Award on February 8. The song did not take home the Oscar last night though. “Glory” from Selma took home the award for Best Original Song.

The song was for his family, and it showed his understanding on Alzheimer’s. The singer is in the final stages of the disease, and it was revealed by Raymond that the singer may not even understand it if he did take home the Academy Award. The Oscar nomination was the first in his career.

Raymond revealed that Glen wrote the song after a particularly difficult day with the disease.

“He didn’t talk too much about it, but came up to me and said, ‘I don’t know what everybody’s worried about. It’s not like I’m going to miss anyone anyway.”

Glen’s wife, Kim Campbell, and his children flew out to Los Angeles to attend last night’s event. Kim took a photo with Tim and Faith on the red carpet. Glen was unable to travel out to Los Angeles for the event. He stayed behind in Nashville at an Alzheimer’s care center.

Kim did speak out about the night and the nomination before the event, according to Seattle PI.

“He’s such a great singer and Glen always loved him. It’s going to be an emotional night to hear it performed.”

Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me shows the singer on stage. He hit the road for what was meant to be a five-week tour, but it lasted two years. He may have Alzheimer’s, but he was still very much Glen on stage. It was off stage that the symptoms of the disease took over. Kim did give an update on Glen’s condition and talked about the film as well. He is no longer able to communicate.

“It’s a very uplifting film, and funny. It’s about love and family, having a good attitude and Glen’s music. [Watching it was comforting like] being wrapped in a warm blanket of love. It’s really difficult because it’s such a contrast between (the film) and his mental capabilities today.”

Tim made sure to share some photos from the night on his Twitter. He shared one photo of himself backstage waiting for his stage call.

Tim McGraw’s performance was a highlight of the night, and several celebrities popped up on Twitter after he sang to praise him for his performance.
