‘GTA V’ Online PC Transfers Will Have Fewer Restrictions Than Console Editions

When Rockstar Games Released the new updated versions of Grand Theft Auto V on the Xbox One and Playstation 4, the developer allowed users to transfer their existing save data from the last-gen editions of GTA V so that they can keep their progress within GTA Online. The transfers were made possible due to the fact that the data is actually stored on Rockstar Games’ own servers.

However, there were a few restrictions in what could actually be transferred to the new current-gen versions of GTA V. First of all, only progress from Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 could be transferred. For example, fans are able to transfer their PS4 data to the Xbox One. Additionally, GTA V users are only able to perform a transfer once per account. This prevents gamers from being able to transfer their last-gen progress to both the Xbox One and PS4 at the same time.

Thankfully, Rockstar Games has confirmed that they will be far less strict for how transfers will be handled on the upcoming PC edition of Grand Theft Auto V. While answering fan questions on the official website for Rockstar Support over the weekend, the developer revealed to players that PC transfers for GTA V will have fewer restrictions.

To begin with, Rockstar Games is removing the limit of one transfer per account for the PC version of GTA V. This means that even those who previously transferred their online progress from last-gen consoles to either the Xbox One or Playstation 4 will still be allowed to move their saves one more time when Grand Theft Auto V launches on PC next month.

Furthermore, while console players aren’t allowed to transfer GTA V data from current-gen systems, PC gamers won’t have the same restriction. PC users will be able to transfer their progress regardless of what platform they currently play on. For all other details on the upcoming transfer process for Grand Theft Auto V‘s PC editions, Rockstar Games is directing players to a previously released support article on the topic.

There are many reasons why someone who already owns a copy of GTA V may still be interested in picking up the game another time when it is released on PC next month. The Inquisitr recently listed five advantages that the PC version of GTA V will have over the game’s existing console versions such as improved resolution, frame-rate, mod support, and more.

Grand Theft Auto V will become available on PC starting March 24. If you already have a console edition of GTA V do you still plan to pick up the game on PC as well?
