Martha Stewart Is In Trouble Again

It seems that Martha Stewart just can’t stay out of trouble. Today Macy’s Inc. filed a lawsuit against Stewart to block a licensing deal she has signed with J.C Penny.

J.C. Penny has bought almost 15% of Martha Stewart Living, the company who Stewart sells all her Slave Labor wares through. Macy’s is alleging that Stewart has an exclusive agreement with Macy’s and that J.C. Penny cannot open their chain of Martha Stewart Living Mini stores inside their own stores.

Martha Stewart Living was called by the Huffington Post for comment on the matter. They said they do not comment on legal matters but confirmed that Macy’s has alerted the company they have every intention of renewing their agreement with Martha Stewart Living.

They also said that their agreement with J.C. Penny is still in effect.

Macy’s in asking for an injunction to stop J.C. Penny from moving forward.

After news of the announcement hit Macy’s shares jumped and shares of Martha Stewart Living went down.

Martha is no stranger to trouble. She has served time in prison for illegal insider trading. She also has been accused of using slave labor in the factories that manufacture her products overseas. Now this latest lawsuit is just another shady accomplishment for Stewart. Her show was also cancelled this year due to lousy ratings.

It is amazing that a woman so revered for being a wholesome role model for family oriented women keeps getting herself involved with illegal activity.
