Despite ‘Adele Dazeem’ Disaster, John Travolta Will Present At Academy Awards: ‘Travoltafied’ Nominees [Video]
It might seem like a recipe for disaster, but John Travolta will be a presenter at the Academy Awards again. And although some who heard him mangle the singer Idina Menzel’s name by calling her Adele Dazeem might groan, others are predicting that he’ll save the 2015 Oscars, reported Time.
By practicing his presentation speech, Travolta has the opportunity to restore the way that the public sees him. In addition, the producers are aware that the mere anticipation as to what he might say (or mis-speak) will make some viewers tune in.

In 2014, Ellen DeGeneres hosted the show and earned praise for her Oscar selfie surprise. But adding to the impromptu spirit of the 86th Academy Awards was Travolta’s fumble.
Now, with Neil Patrick Harris hosting the 87th Academy Awards, as the Inquisitr reported, the list of presenters and nominees holds promise, thanks to John.
Last year, viewers were so enchanted by Travolta’s elaboration of Idina’s name that a widget went viral that deliberately mangled names, according to Slate.
He even earned his own verb: “To Travoltify,” which can be used as an adjective: “Travoltified.”
So who are the nominees subject to John’s travoltifying? One of the most hotly contested races for an Oscar is for Best Picture, according to Variety.
Nomines for the best film include American Sniper – Clint Eastwood, Robert Lorenz, Andrew Lazar, Bradley Cooper and Peter Morgan, Producers; Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) – Alejandro G. And while you might think that “Skotchdopole” has real potential for John, it’s the best actor group that has a name with a twist that’s developed its own viral videos. That’s Benedict Cumberbatch, whose fellow nominees include Steve Carell, Bradley Cooper, Michael Keaton, and Eddie Redmayne.
Benedict even has his own name generator, with numerous jokes about mispronouncing it such as Bendyduck Cucumberpants, points out BuzzFeed.
As for John himself? He apologized profusely about his Oscars OMG, reported ABC News.
“I’ve been beating myself up all day. Then I thought… what would Idina Menzel say, She’d say, Let it go, let it go! Idina is incredibly talented and I am so happy Frozen took home two Oscars Sunday night!”
