Aviva Drescher Dissed By Bethenny Frankel: ‘RHONY’ Star Talks Season 7, Cast Antics

Aviva Drescher was the target of a new interview featuring Bethenny Frankel. Ahead of her return to The Real Housewives of New York City, Frankel explained why some housewives act crazy on the show, and spoke of her excitement to be back with her former co-stars.

During the February 17 interview with KQED Pop, Frankel opened up about why she believed Aviva Drescher, and other members of the cast, have acted so outrageously during previous seasons.

“I think it’s a lack of personal creativity, or people feel like they don’t know what else to do or say so they just want to do something outlandish. I’m doing the show because I miss the connection with women. For me personally, I think I have enough going on in my life that I don’t need to do something ridiculous or outlandish just to make it interesting.”

Frankel appeared on The Real Housewives of New York City from Season 1 until Season 3, when she left the series to pursue her own show with husband Jason Hoppy. Seasons later, Frankel suggested Andy Cohen bring Aviva Drescher to the show.

During her time on reality TV, Drescher made waves with her co-stars with her non-stop feuds, and eventually ripped off her leg during the finale episode of Season 6. Although the moment made for quite the dramatic scene, it was found by some to be inauthentic, and her role was ultimately cut from the series.

As for her own return to the show, Frankel is excited to get started.

“I’m really looking forward to it. I want the show to be good and successful, but the only way for that to be the case is if I’m real and honest and to be who I am. If that is interesting to people, then there you go. I don’t need to do the show, I want to do it. I feel like I needed it before.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Frankel recently spoke of her Real Housewives of New York City return, claiming she hoped to bring humor to the Bravo series.

“Hopefully, I can bring the humor angle. Andy Cohen once told me I was the Greek chorus. Believe me, there is no shortage of content,” she told the Miami Herald.

Aviva Drescher is currently starring on WEtv’s Marriage Boot Camp, alongside husband Reid and several other reality stars. On the show, Drescher and her husband participate in exercises, which are meant to help them grow as a couple.
