Selena Gomez: Topless On ‘V Magazine’ Cover, Still Talking About Justin Bieber — ‘All We Had Was Each Other’
Move over Miley. Selena Gomez has gone topless for the spring issue of V Magazine issue 94.
The beautiful actress-singer strips off for her V debut, yet still does not quite look all of her 22 years. In one image, the Latina wears hip-skimming, high-waisted jean shorts, disco-red hoops and a cutesy, matching polka-dot bow in her hyper-curly hair.
Rather like Selena’s former boyfriend, Justin Bieber – who was interviewed by vampiric designer Karl Lagerfeld for his recent V profile – the starlet and magazine drafted in her Spring Breakers co-star James Franco to do the honors.
Opening up, the pop princess says she is happier than she’s ever been now that her past relationship is over, but still spends a fair old amount of time talking about her ex.
“I feel the best I’ve ever felt in my life,” Gomez declares. Then, seemingly all done crying about the heartache she sang of on single “The Heart Wants What It Wants,” Gomez told Franco she has no romantic regrets.
“Super stoked that I’ve got some bumps on me, some scars, some bruises. I actually love that,” she says, adding, “And I don’t mean that in a morbid way.”
The songstress went on, “It was great to experience really beautiful things, and then, you know, have the growing pains, in every possible manner, in every relationship.”
Selena’s on-off, four relationship with Justin kicked off the “Jelena” phenomenon. Now, she says she has learned from her first, real romance and intends to do things differently next time she gets hit by Cupid.
“I think the next time will be much different… which will definitely not be any time soon,” she vows.
“That’s a growing up kind of thing. I was 18 years old, and it was my first love. The older I get, I’m guarding certain things more,” she states, which suggests she is not in a romance with EDM producer Zedd as most gossip outlets appear to think.
Giving her take on being one half of the most obsessed over celebrity-couplings in recent times, Selena mused, “After being put through the scrutiny, I understand what it is.”
In a poignant description, she added, “When you’re young and you’re being told so many different things… it almost felt like all we had was each other, like the world was against us, in a way.”
But Gomez insists, “It was really weird but it was incredible. I would never take it back in a million years. You live and you learn, you know?”
The brunette beauty also talked about the emotional effect of being the focus of tabloids.
Revealing it made her anxious to the point where, “There were a few months where I was a little depressed, where I wouldn’t leave [the house] as much,” she talks about being a recluse at one point.
“I think I drove myself crazy for a little bit,” the starlet added. “It was just easier to say ‘Hey, do you mind running to the grocery store and picking some stuff up, I don’t want to get photographed.'”
Gomez says she has been fighting the urge to “stay in.” Elaborating, she explains, “That’s what I was trying to fix this past year, I’m finally getting a little bit more comfortable.”
The “I Want You To Know” singer also says she believes her 2015 will be “incredible” and that the past years have given her time to grow.
“You can’t help but have some troubles here and there. I don’t think it’s a smooth process for anyone,” Selena concludes.
