Lady Gaga Gets A Giant $500,000 Heart-Shaped Engagement Ring To Die For, Taylor Kinney Proposes On Valentine’s Day

Lady Gaga took to her Instagram to reveal that she and her long-time boyfriend, Taylor Kinney, are now engaged. The singer posted a picture of the $500,000 heart-shaped ring with the caption, “He gave me his heart on Valentine’s Day, and I said YES!” After Kinney popped the big question, the couple celebrated at Joanne Trattoria, the restaurant owned by Lady Gaga’s parents in the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

Taylor Kinney and Lady Gaga met during the filming of her music video for “You and I.” In the music video, Lady Gaga was seen wearing her mother’s actual wedding gown, with Kinney appearing as the object of her affection. Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney started dating several months after the video shoot, but they split briefly in May of 2012. They got back together the following month, and it looked like the couple were more in love than ever.

In a recent interview with Howard Stern, Lady Gaga gushed about Kinney.

“He is the right guy,” she said. “How do we know? It’s this feeling…” Kinney also had nothing but kind words for Lady Gaga when he was interviewed by Us back in April of last year. “[She] is someone who’s always in your corner, that believes in you and your work, and vice versa,” he said. “You know, I love what she does and her work and music and charity. She inspires so many people including myself.”

“He’s a hidden weirdo,” Lady Gaga said about Kinney during an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show back in 2013. “He is extremely strange actually and we complement each other’s weirdness. That’s actually one of the first things he ever said to me. It’s a Dr. Seuss quote that you find in someone else a compatible weirdness. And it was one of the first things he’s said to me.”

Lady Gaga also talked about the music video shoot that started it all. According to her, “We were in the middle of this scene and I remember that he kissed me and it wasn’t scripted for him to kiss me and I was sort of like was um, you know, was that real or was that fake? And he didn’t really say anything and that was fine by me and we kept filming.”

She added, “At the end of the day he’s my best friend and having your lover be your best friend. I mean, it’s the best thing ever. It’s the best thing I can say about it.”
