Lady Gaga Engaged To Taylor Kinney After V-Day Proposal

It’s official — Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney are getting married.

Us Weekly confirmed on Monday that the “Poker Face” singer and Chicago Fire actor are now engaged. According to the report, Taylor proposed to Lady Gaga on Valentine’s Day. Kinney popped the question, Lady Gaga accepted, and the future spouses celebrated the good news at her family’s Manhattan restaurant, Joanne Trattoria.

The 28-year-old singer was spotted on Monday with a big grin on her face. She was apparently not ready to show her engagement ring, which could be the reason why she strategically hid her left ring finger from the paparazzi.

Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney first met on the Nebraska set of her music video for the 2011 hit single, “You and I.” Kinney played her love interest in the video. Ironically, Gaga wore her mother’s real-life wedding gown in various scenes throughout the racy video.

Several months later, the pair started dating officially. Even though they broke up in May of 2012, they were reconciled and reunited in June of the same year.

Fans and critics of Lady Gaga know that she has been ready and waiting for Kinney’s proposal for quite some time now. In an interview with Howard Stern, she admitted that Taylor was “the right guy” and she would marry him if he decided to pop the question.

In an April 2014 interview with Us Weekly, Taylor Kinney had the chance to open up about what he thought about his future wife.

“[Lady Gaga] is someone who’s always in your corner, that believes in you and your work, and vice versa. You know, I love what she does and her work and music and charity. She inspires so many people, including myself.”

Even though Lady Gaga joked about hanging out in a pickup truck with a stylist screaming at her while visiting David’s Bridal, chances are that will not happen.

Then again, with the unpredictable nature of her eccentric style and presence, that is exactly how it might play out.
