LuAnn De Lesseps Is ‘Pretty Sure’ She’ll Be A Full-Time Housewife On ‘RHONY’ Season 7
LuAnn de Lesseps is confident her Season 7 role on The Real Housewives of New York City will be larger than her role on the Bravo reality show last year.
As fans will recall, de Lesseps was seen less in Season 6 after producers felt her role wasn’t as important to the series. Instead, the show focused on the other housewives, including the show’s newest addition, Kristen Taekman. However, after ratings failed to see a spike, as producers were likely hoping for, de Lesseps could be returning to the role she held for five seasons.
On February 16, Buddy TV announced LuAnn de Lesseps was “set to return as a full-time cast member” on The Real Housewives of New York City‘s upcoming seventh season.
“I’m pretty sure I’m back full time,” de Lesseps told the New York Post last week. “I think I’ll be holding an apple.”
In The Andy Cohen Diaries, Real Housewives creator Cohen opened up about his decision to demote LuAnn de Lesseps ahead of Season 6.
“I had to tell her that although she’s all over the show, she doesn’t have her own story line. She’s not a happy Countess.”
LuAnn de Lesseps has been featured on the Bravo reality star since it began in 2008.
In a second interview with People Magazine on February 14, de Lesseps said she was basically “fully back” to the series for Season 7.
“I didn’t know what it was gonna be like, I thought it was going to be awkward but it’s actually turned out to be good. We get along really well so it’s like old times… it’s kind of like the good old days of the Housewives.”
De Lesseps also spoke of the number of housewives who would be a part of the upcoming installment.
“We’re eight now, we’ve added a new Housewife. I must say, she is doing great because we all know her. It’s not like someone who you don’t know who just comes in and you are like, who is this person? She has the same lifestyle, so I think she’ll be a good addition.”
Although de Lesseps didn’t confirm the identity of the new housewife, the Inquisitr has reported the mystery woman as Dorinda Medley, who has taken tons of photos with the cast after reportedly being brought to the series by longtime friend, Ramona Singer.
LuAnn de Lesseps and the rest of the cast of The Real Housewives of New York City will return to Bravo later this year for Season 7.
