Derek Hough Update: ‘DWTS’ Pro Teases ‘Move Live On Tour’ Return, Readies For Rockettes Show
Derek Hough won’t be one of the pros dancing on Season 20 of Dancing with the Stars this spring, much to the disappointment of his fans. However, Hough still has a lot going on and there are plenty of ways that fans can still see him perform. What’s the latest from the DWTS pro?
Hough won’t be on the spring 2015 season of DWTS because he’s doing a Radio City Music Hall show with the Rockettes this spring, titled New York Spring Spectacular. As PureDWTS shared, the show is coming together nicely, and Derek looks like he’s having a blast with this unique opportunity. The show runs for seven weeks with a preview on March 12 and shows available from March 26 through May 3.
As Dancing with the Stars announced the Season 20 pro slate, which includes fan favorites such as Kym Johnson, Mark Ballas, and Val Chmerkovskiy, the show quickly tweeted that Derek Hough would return for Season 21 airing in the fall. What will Derek do with his time after the Radio City Music Hall show and before the DWTS fall season? From the sounds of things, relaxing isn’t on the agenda.
Derek tweeted a note that apparently included a sneak peek at the Move Live on Tour 2015 show, though the Instagram post tied to the tweet has since been taken down. Derek and his sister, Julianne Hough, have teased that the show would be returning, but so far there hasn’t really been anything announced officially.
Hough’s tweet says, “This summer is gonna be EPIC! All new show!!” and this is the first solid information about the show returning that fans have had. Though fans are buzzing about the fact the accompanying Instagram post was removed, most are guessing that it’s probably because Derek started sharing specifics a little bit too early.
While Derek Hough will certainly be missed this spring on Dancing with the Stars, his fans are thrilled he’s making the most of the opportunities available to him right now. The past year has certainly been a whirlwind for him, with a book and a guest stint on Nashville in addition to the Move Live on Tour project. What else does the DWTS pro have up his sleeve for projects this year? Fans can’t wait to find out.
Tune into the Season 20 premiere of Dancing with the Stars coming in March as well as details on Derek Hough’s Move Live on Tour show coming this summer. While it’ll be a bit before the fall 2015 DWTS season comes together, fans are thrilled that Derek will apparently be a part of it.
