Kevin Kimmel: Trucker’s 911 Call Saves Woman Tortured By Craigslist Sex Traffickers
Trucker Kevin Kimmel is being called a hero today after his phone call to police helped save an abducted woman and expose a sex ring being operated on Craigslist. Opposing Views is reporting that the police arrested 36-year-old Aldair Hodza, and 31-year-old Laura Sorensen for abducting a 20-year-old female and forcing her to become a prostitute.
Police made the discovery in Virginia after Kevin Kimmel called police about suspicious activity. The trucker had observed a distressed-looking young woman peeking out from behind a black curtain that had been placed over the windows of an RV. Kimmel felt that the RV looked suspicious, and his notion was confirmed after he observed a man entering the vehicle, which began rocking back and forth — indicating that sexual activity may have been taking place inside.
“[I] saw what looked like a young girl looking out the window, the black drapes didn’t make it look like a families’ RV, you know.()I saw a guy come up and knock on the door then go inside the Pilot–then quickly came back and knocked again, all of the sudden the thing was rocking and rolling.”
When police arrived, they found a badly bruised woman who had holes in the top of her feet and looked as if she was malnourished. The woman told cops that she had been kidnapped on Christmas Eve in Iowa and forced to work as a prostitute — servicing men who had been procured on Craigslist. The frightened woman told investigators that the deranged couple used a hammer to nail holes in her feet, and that they burned her in various places on her body with hot keys that had been held over heat, according to The Daily Mail.
The local police turned over the investigation to the FBI, who found a wealth of damaging evidence against the couple. Among the evidence were photos of a naked woman who had been bound and gagged. Another photo showed the badly beaten woman with holes in the top of her feet. Detectives also found a photo of the abductors pouring bleach in the victim’s open wounds, according to The News Advance.
Now the woman, who has not been publicly identified, is happy that she is alive today due to trucker Kevin Kimmel’s call to 911. Kimmel believes that he would have done the same for anyone because he has daughters of his own. Here is what he told CBS-6.
“When I saw the young girl’s face, I said that’s not going to happen, I’ve got daughters and granddaughters.()I only learned the gruesome details through the news.() I’m just happy I helped her.”
Aldair Hodza and Laura E. Sorensen are expected to be in court in the next several days.
