Tiger Woods Lashes Out At Hank Haney’s Book, Calls It “Self Serving”
Hank Haney and Tiger Woods worked together for six-years and departed company in May 2010, since that time Haney has written a book that reflects on the six years he spent with Woods and the world’s former No. 1 golfer isn’t happy with the final product.
Speaking with ESPN Tiger said of the book:
“I think it’s unprofessional and very disappointing, especially because it’s someone I worked with and trusted as a friend.
“There have been other one-sided books about me, and I think people understand that this book is about money. I’m not going to waste my time reading it.”
Speaking about the book and it’s message Haney revealed:
“I was a witness to greatness. And I get asked the question all the time about Tiger. I wanted to talk about it and I wanted to share it with people. That’s the bottom line. I’m not sure I understand the unprofessionalism part. He hasn’t read the book. There’s a lot of positives in there. I think he’s the greatest golfer who ever lived.
“I was just in a position to observe greatness and anyone who observes greatness likes to share it. I feel like I wrote a book that was fair and honest. It’s golf history.”
Oddly enough Tiger Woods knew a book was in the works but never made an attempt to contact Hank about the project.
Even with the criticism Tiger Woods has given the book he said on Thursday:
“Again, I want to thank Hank for everything he did for me.”
However Woods also noted:
“That is what I alluded to earlier,” he said. “I just think this book is very self-serving.”
From a guy who cheated on his wife with various women and then destroyed his own career overnight I don’t think the “self-serving” comment really holds any weight.
Do you think Hank Haney had the right to release the book about his personal and professional time spend with Tiger Woods?
