Herman Cain to Give Tea Party Address

On Tuesday, January 24.Herman Cain will deliver the Tea Party’s response to President Obama’s State of the Union speech. Herman Cain had recently been the frontrunner for the Republican presidential primary until a series of sexual harassment allegations forced his approval numbers down and caused him to leave the race.

Tea Party Express Chief Strategist Sal Russo issued a release Thursday saying,

“Herman Cain has been a steadfast advocate for the values of the Tea Party and the practical solutions needed to solve the problems that face our nation. Americans want straight talk and honest solutions, and Herman Cain will deliver a pro-growth message strongly and clearly.”

Cain will be fighting blind on this one as the White House has no intention of releasing details of the President’s speech beforehand. Cain’s speech will either be written beforehand in a generic way or crafted during the address.

Cain is the former CEO and Founder of Godfather’s Pizza. He also headed the National Restaurant Association. His experience in business brought him to the Tea Party and he has been associated with them ever since.

This is turning into a pattern for the Tea Party Express. Michelle Bachman, another Presidential contender gave the response to Obama’s 2011 State of the Union Speech.

During the Southern Republican Leadership Conference in Charleston, South Carolina, Cain was asked if he intended to endorse a candidate. He replied with the following,

“My unconventional endorsement is the people. We the people are still in charge of this country, and I am endorsing we the people!”
