John Legend Distances Himself From Kanye West’s Beck Bashing
John Legend is one of the most respected artists in the music world today, which is why many people were upset that Legend seemed to support Kanye West’s trashing of Beck winning the Grammy for Album of the Year. Us Magazine reported that John Legend found Kanye’s comments to be funny.
“I thought it was funny,” Legend told US Weekly exclusively of the moment when West, 37, walked up to the stage, thought better of it, and turned back around.
“I looked at it as just a funny thing that people were going to talk about. It didn’t hurt anybody,” the “All of Me” singer, 36, continued. “Anybody who’s upset just needs to relax. It was funny.”
Legend’s comments upset many music listeners, but they may be happy to find out, through the Huffington Post, that Legend indeed doesn’t support how Kanye West tried to derail Beck’s Grammy win.
“‘When I said that was funny and people should lighten up about it, that’s what I meant. I wasn’t referring to Kanye’s comments after the show which I have now seen and heard. I disagree with those comments. Beck is indeed a true artist’s artist. He’s a multi-instrumentalist, a creative and unique singer-songwriter whose music I have bought and enjoyed over the years.'”
John Legend, unlike Kanye West, shows true class. In 2009, West had no problem interrupting Taylor Swift‘s moment of victory at the MTV Video Music Awards. People quotes Kanye West as saying he is actually going to work with Taylor Swift soon.
“Yeah, she wants to get in the studio and we’re definitely going to go in. Any artist with an amazing point of view, perspective, fan base, I’m down to get in the studio and work with.”
John Legend has no plans to record with Taylor Swift, but let’s hope he still hangs around with his wife after she gave a cringeworthy interview. According to Fox News, his wife Chrissy Teigen has revealed that Legend likes some presidential sex.
“John Legend turned red-in-the face after his wife Chrissy Teigen revealed they had sex at an Obama event. When asked by Extra at the Grammys to share a ‘public place you did it,’ the Sports Illustrated model asked, ‘Is this the best or worst?’ She quickly followed, ‘Probably the Obama thing?’ Legend looked shocked that his wife would reveal the intimate moment with the cameras and went silent.”
John Legend is scheduled to get back to the recording studio soon to record his next album. The music world can hardly wait.
