Season 20 of Dancing With the Stars premieres on March 16, and now viewers know 10 of the 12 pros participating. While there are two more pro names yet to be released along with the 12 celebrity dancers, fans can now start to get a feel for who will be on the dance floor in the 2015 season. Which DWTS pros were announced so far?
There had been a lot of teases about the pro slate for this 2015 spring season, and so far there haven’t necessarily been any huge surprises. Dancing With the Stars fans already knew that Derek Hough and Cheryl Burke would be out this season, and Karina Smirnoff just confirmed that she is leaving the show as well.
Interestingly, the show’s Twitter page already shared Derek will be returning for Season 21 in the fall, though, so fans can look forward to that. Those behind the show had teased that there might be some prior fan favorites returning this spring, and one big name was released on Wednesday via Good Morning America .
As ABC shares, the 10 pros officially joining DWTS Season 20 include Kym Johnson, Val Chmerkovskiy, Peta Murgatroyd , Mark Ballas, Sharna Burgess, Tony Dovolani, Witney Carson, Artem Chigvintsev, Allison Holker and Emma Slater. As Us Weekly notes, two more pros will be announced soon, and most are guessing that both will be male pros.
Who will be the last two professional DWTS dancers announced? Nobody knows for certain yet, but names like Tristan MacManus, Keo Motsepe and Louis Van Amstel seem to be recurring guesses, though certainly other names such as Henry Byalikov, Sasha Farber and evan Maksim Chmerkovskiy are being thrown out for consideration by fans. It could well be that the show pulls in someone who hasn’t been either a pro or troupe member before too.
Now that most of the pros have been confirmed, DWTS fans will turn to buzzing over which celebrities might be dancing. There have been a few names bandied about so far, but nothing all that solid. The Dancing With the Stars 2015 spring cast is going to be announced later in February, and some are betting that things are still in the works with a couple of the spots, meaning that the pro slate isn’t 100 percent set yet.
There were a couple of other tidbits shared in the big GMA announcement that DWTS fans will find interesting. It seems that this will be judge Len Goodman’s last season as many suspected, and the switch-up week will be back again this spring.
What do you think of the group of professionals returning for Dancing With the Stars Season 20? Who do you want to see as the celebrities joining DWTS and who do you think the other two pros will be?
