‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’: Luke Skywalker’s Son Revealed?
Could we see the son of Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: The Force Awakens? That is the rumor and the sources seem to be reliable.
Now, if you don’t want to find out any more spoilers, you should stop reading, but why would you be here in the first place?
Here we go with the spoilers. Last chance to leave. You’ve been warned.
According to the website Making of Star Wars, there are insistent rumors that Luke Skywalker’s son will be indeed making an appearance in Star Wars: The Force Awakens in the person of actor Domhnall Gleeson. Here is the scoop as related by editor-in-chief Jason Ward.
The new scoop is intimately related to some leaks from a few days ago, which pretty much suggested that Luke has an offspring who will be creating problems for The Force, as the good guys try to keep things under control in the Galaxy far, far away. Ward cites four separate sources indicating that Gleeson, is playing Luke Skywalker’s son.
The website, claims that their sources have been correct in the past and so we try to stay calm and take this new information with the proverbial grain of salt.
“Four different spheres of development without much chance of overlap between the sources. So either Gleeson is the son of Skywalker in The Force Awakens or someone prominent in the production is spreading misinformation (which I doubt).”
“I factually know that Gleeson is an Imperial in the film tasked with sending Chrome Stormtroopers after Finn (John Boyega). He strikes me as Padmé playing Admiral Piett, if you get my drift (especially if yesterday’s rumors are correct). He reports to the villains in the film and even helps them hunt Finn.”
“Apparently, Gleeson’s character is playing both sides to disarm the galaxy of its super weapons held by both sides which ‘should not be allowed to exist according to his internal moral compass.’ But it seems he might do some bad things in the name of the greater good over the course of the film. I’ve wondered if this is an extrapolation of Lawrence Kasdan’s idea that Luke Skywalker would turn ‘evil’ in Return of the Jedi and use one Death Star to destroy the others and Coruscant (Had Abbadon), killing the Emperor and the heads of the Empire.”
“I stand by Geeson is an Imperial Commandant in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens because he is. It sure is sounding like Luke Skywalker is his papa as well though. The double agent rumors are rampant enough to at least take somewhat seriously.”
So as you see, Ward is quite convinced this is the course which Star Wars: The Force Awakens will take. No word on who the mother is, or if Gleeson will keep his red hair for his role, but it sounds interesting and plausible enough. But we insist, these are only rumors and not much has been revealed about the plot for this installment in the saga by director J.J. Abrams or Disney. So we just wait to see if Luke Skywalker’s son is, in fact, Donhmall Gleeson.
