January’s turning out to be a good month for those eagerly awaiting the launch of En Masse’s upcoming MMO, TERA . Just last week we got word that sign-ups for the TERA closed beta had gone up, and now the publisher has given a release date to the MMO.
En Masse announced today that TERA is expected to release both digitally and at retailer on May 1 in North America, with a European release following two days later on May 3. A collector’s edition is planned, but the publisher is holding back details on that until February.
TERA is an MMO that has caught the eye of many MMO fans, particularly for its skill-based combat system. Rather than tabbing to your target and having all of your attacks track the enemy, TERA instead goes for a more action game system. For example, you won’t be able to just shoot off a fireball and have it track the target; you’ll need to actually aim it. The same can be said for all other mechanics, even healing and buffing.
If you’d like to give the game a shot ahead of its May 1 release date, closed beta signups are, as previously mentioned, now available. For more information on that, as well as the open beta, head over to our previous report .
